took some pictures while I was out shopping the other day, and felt really excited about all the color I was seeing. I was at world market, so obviously there's a lot of color and pattern to look at, but I was still loving the look of it. it took everything in me to NOT buy these bracelets:
I love loads of pillows...and these all seem to somehow look okay together:
this was not world market, just super pretty:
it's stuff like that that makes being a girl super fun.
-my show closes on friday, come to the reception from 6-10 to chat with me and the other artists, drink some wine, buy art, hang outside (weather permitting)! jefferson studio, 860 jefferson, in tremont.
-just revamped my etsy shop, after taking all of my cards out (to not compete with my employer). I have prints up there now, and will be adding more soon. designs I had done for my own cards will be now sold as art prints.
-my site is also being updated, I need to fix some of my older self-branded images and update them. I'm trading my yellow color out for a salmon pink (in my header) and changing my resume and things accordingly. I have to stop ignoring that my work is inadvertently feminine and just roll with it.
I have tons of new work done and ready to show and it feels SO good. I'm lucky enough to be a part of a show at Jefferson Studio in Tremont with Don King and Susan Hlaudy, who is the owner of the studio. The show, "Characters," opens this Friday at 6 as a part of the Tremont Art Walk, and will be on display until the end of April. There will also be a closing reception on Friday, April 23rd at 7pm with drinks, food, yummy things I'm going to make, etc. The three of us will be there to chat with everyone, and hopefully the weather will be great so we can hang on Susan's neat little alleyway patio. All of my originals and some prints are up for sale. I'm in the process of getting all the new stuff up on my site, but here are some previews of what will be at the show, and eventually up online.
