Recipe: Brie + Apple Flatbread

I made this on Sunday as an afternoon football snack after seeing it posted here on Sugarlaws. It sounded so good and perfectly seasonal for this time of year, and ended up being really, really easy.

I N G R E D I E N T S :

1 small whole wheat pizza dough (picked it up pre-made from Heinen's)
1/2 lb brie cheese
1 large tart green apple
2 tbsp honey

D I R E C T I O N S :

Preheat oven to 400° and roll out dough on pizza stone/pan (or baking sheet if you don't have one).

Bake the pizza dough about halfway, about 5-8 minutes (or follow instructions for the dough you purchased), remove from the oven.

Lay slices of brie on pizza dough, then layer thinly sliced apples on top.

Drizzle with honey and pop back in the over for another 5-8 minutes.

By then, the apples should be warm and maybe browning a tad at the corners. I added a bit more honey after the bake since it dried up a little.

Slice like a pizza or however you want, and enjoy with a good beer or cider. This was totally drool-worthy, and convinced me that a football snack doesn't have to be greasy and artery-clogging. Plus, anything with cheese on it? Who can resist.
