Last weekend Jim and I took a little trip to the east side to visit the art museum, and of course had to stop for lunch in Little Italy. The Cleveland Museum of Art underwent a major renovation a couple years ago and, although I believe there are still phases in progress, it's pretty much finished. There are still portions from the original museum, which are still familiar from the days where I took school trips there as a kid. It's a perfect mix of old and new...
I snapped a secret picture of one of my favorite paintings there...Le déjeuner sur l'herbre—a parody of Manet's Luncheon on the Grass by Max Ernst. I love surrealism and this painting just makes me smile.
Looking out at the street from Presti's in Little Italy
Waiting in line for lunch
Spinach and meatball stromboli and an Italian panini
Presti's is an amazing bakery, it was hard to choose what to get for dessert, but my go-to is their chocolate mousse, it's to die for!
We also took some cavatelli to go, as well as a couple cannoli and some shortbread cookies. The guy at the counter spared me his judgmental glances but I could tell my laundry list of items was totally grossing him out. We don't get out to Little Italy much, so we have to make it worth it every time! And having some Presti's to savor for the next couple days was totally worth it.
a lovely day out - thanks for sharing!
